Fifty Years Since the Museum’s Official Opening!

Though we held the museum's 50 birthday party earlier this year, October 13th marks the 50th anniversary of our official opening - to mark that, today, kids can join us to make a special craft and families can enjoy a special scavenger hunt, which will encourage you to take an extra special look at the museum's collection.

The Playwrights’ Workshop

In this six week course, playwright and director Michael Clipperton will lead you through the entire process of writing for the stage -- from plot development and characterization to stage directions and dialogue. By the end of the course, each participant will have completed a 15 minute scene and these scenes will be showcased in a staged reading by local performers that will be open to the public. Presented in partnership with Rural Rogues Productions.

Ghost Making Workshop

Decorate your yard with these eerie ghosts! Participants will create life-size ghosts that can decorate your porch or trees for Halloween.  All materials will be supplied. Day of the Dead Workshop

Learn the art of creating altars to honor your departed family members and loved ones. Activities will include decorating frames, making crepe paper flowers, creating lanterns and candle holders.
